Umarkote: A preparatory meeting was held at the Health Line Conference Hall in Umarkote, Nabarangpur district, for the upcoming Chief Minister’s Football Cup Tournament, which is set to commence on March 30. The tournament aims to be conducted smoothly and efficiently.
The main guest, Mr. Tripathi, announced that all football players under the age of 14 would be eligible to participate in the tournament. A total of 91 football teams from across Nabarangpur district will take part in the event. The District Sports Association will oversee and manage the entire tournament, according to its secretary, Prahlad Tripathi.
The football tournament will run for six days, starting from March 30. Various committees have been formed and assigned responsibilities to ensure its smooth operation. All matches of the tournament will be played at the Biju Nayak Stadium in Sanabharandi.
Several dignitaries attended the meeting, including Das from Umarkote Municipality, Sudhanshu, Vice President of the District Sports Association, K. Tanveer Jilani, Joint Secretary of the Sports Association, Durga Prasad Mallik, Hockey Secretary and Director of Health Line, Krishna Prasad Pattnayak, Chairman of Health Line and Indoor Games Secretary, Ashok Kumar Nayak, Cricket Secretary, Sri Behera, Football Secretary, along with Durjaya Harijan, Rabibar Suna, Aditya Miduli, and Netra Harijan.
The entire program was coordinated by E. Chandana Mallik, Women’s Coordinator of the District Sports Association and Vice-Chairperson of Health Line. All attendees wished for the successful execution of the tournament.
