Hirakud, 17th Sept 2025: To ensure the smooth conduct of the famous Bishwakarma Puja in Hirakud town, the Hirakud Police have issued a detailed traffic roadmap. In view of the expected crowd on September 17 for the Puja, traffic control will be enforced starting from the Remed Chhak area.
Key Traffic Arrangements:
- One-way traffic will be implemented for entering and exiting the city.
- For visiting the main Hirakud Dam, vehicles will be allowed via Santoshi Mandir Chhak and VSS Colony.
- While returning, vehicles will exit through Store Chhak, Durga Mandir Chhak, and Coal Gate, reaching the main road.
Parking & Crowd Control:
- A four-wheeler parking zone will be arranged near Sishu Vidya Mandir close to Gandhi Minar.
- Two-wheelers can be parked near Jawahar Park by Gandhi Minar.
- If the crowd increases, an additional parking area at Shaktinagar will be used, from where visitors can walk to the venue.
Traffic Enforcement:
- The route map will be effective for two days.
- The main road from Santoshi Mandir Chhak to Alind Chhak will be under a No Entry restriction.
- 7 platoons of police force will be deployed for traffic control on the day of the Puja, said Hirakud Police Station Officer Sanaya Nayak.
