Malkangiri, 8th Sept 2025: Today, Basanta Kumar Rana from Kandel Upper Primary School in Malkangiri district and Tarun Kumar Das, currently serving at PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya Koraput, have been honored with the National Teachers’ Award.
In a grand ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, the Honourable President of India presented this prestigious award. The award included a cash prize of ₹50,000 and a citation certificate.
The event was graced by the President of India, the Union Education Minister, the Minister of State for Education, and the Education Secretary of India.
On the eve of the award ceremony, the Honourable Prime Minister of India interacted with all the awardee teachers and extended his best wishes.
These two teachers received this national recognition for their exceptional contributions to the field of education, and warm congratulations have been pouring in for them from across the country.
District Collector Somesh Kumar Upadhyay conveyed his congratulations, stating that these teachers have brought pride and honor to both the district and the state through this achievement.
Additionally, Chittaranjan Panigrahi, the District Education Officer of Malkangiri, personally attended the ceremony in New Delhi and extended his congratulations and best wishes to both educators.
