Bhubaneswar: Although there is a provision to provide 56 citizen-centric services through mandatory online platforms, Odisha currently offers only 25 of these services, resulting in a saturation level of just 44.14% in this category.
In contrast, states like Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and Karnataka have integrated all 56 services into their mandatory e-service systems.
However, when it comes to a unified service portal, Odisha’s ‘Odisha One’ has achieved 100% saturation by offering 404 services.
These findings were highlighted in the 24th Monthly Report of the National e-Governance Service Delivery Assessment (NeSDA) by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) under the Government of India.
Recently, 5 more services were made mandatory, and their scores are being tracked through the NeSDA dashboard.
Currently, Odisha Offers Only 25 of the 56 Mandatory Services
To ensure the inclusion of all mandatory services, Shreenivas Mishra, Deputy Secretary of the Electronics and Information Technology Department, has informed all departments. The five key services to be included are:
1. Online application for government jobs
2. Online payment of traffic violations
3. Online FIR registration
4. Online grievance redressal
5. Online land/property registration
Departments have been advised to ensure 100% saturation levels in these services.
According to available data, various states and Union Territories across India offer a total of 20,638 e-services, with Karnataka leading the list by offering 2,089 services.
Most of the services are related to local administration and utility services.
The Central Government has emphasized that all states should focus on achieving full saturation of e-services and also strengthen their unified service portals.
