Odisha to Offer Services Unavailable from Andhra in Kotia Region

Bhubaneswar:  12th Aug 2025:   Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari has expressed his views on the Kotia dispute, stating that the Odisha government is in regular communication with the central government regarding the issue. He said the Kotia problem has a humanitarian dimension.

According to him, the root cause of the Kotia dispute is the inability of Odisha government services to reach Kotia in the past, which allowed the Andhra Pradesh government to step in and provide services there.

Yesterday, Deputy Chief Minister Prabhati Parida visited Kotia and conducted a survey under the Subhadra Scheme. In the coming days, the Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister will also visit Kotia regarding ration card distribution.

Minister Pujari said he himself has visited Kotia, documented the people’s problems, and brought them back for government consideration. The state government is planning initiatives to ensure higher education opportunities for Kotia residents.

He assured that the services and care the Odisha government will provide to the people of Kotia in the future can never be matched by the Andhra Pradesh government.
