Odisha Takes Pride as Padma Shri Honours Celebrate Its Art, Literature and Culture

Bhubaneswar,  Jan 28:  It is a matter of great pride for Odisha that the Padma Shri awards have been conferred upon distinguished personalities who have showcased the state’s rich art, literature, and culture on the global stage.
Renowned Maniabandh ikat weaver Shri Sarat Kumar Patra, who has proudly represented Odisha’s traditional craftsmanship worldwide; eminent Prahlad Natak artist Shri Simanchal Patra, who has revitalized and popularized Sakhikala at the international level; noted writer Shri Mahendra Kumar Mishra, who has enriched Odia and tribal literature; and distinguished writer and music director Shri Charan Hembrom, who has given new direction to Santali literature and music—have all brought immense pride to the state with this honor.
