Odisha Police Clinches 9 Gold Medals at World Police and Fire Games

Bhubaneswar: At the ongoing World Police and Fire Games 2025 in Birmingham, the sportspersons from Odisha Police have delivered a stellar performance. By the end of Day 4, they have successfully secured 9 gold medals, bringing pride to the state.

Constable Ashok Dandasena has clinched 2 gold medals and 1 silver, while Savita Tappa won 1 gold and 1 bronze, and Sushmita Tiga bagged 1 bronze medal.

In total over 4 days, Odisha Police athletes have won:

9 gold

2 silver

3 bronze medals.

Ashok Dandasena, a constable, won gold in men’s 5000 meters and 10000 meters, and a silver in the 4×400 meter relay. Previously, he had also won gold in the 800 meters and 1500 meters races.

Constable Savita won gold in women’s 100-meter hurdles and bronze in 400-meter hurdles.

Constable Sushmita secured bronze in the women’s 4×400 meter relay. Earlier, she had won gold in the 1500 meters and silver in the 800 meters.

Director General of Police, Yogesh Bahadur Khurania, expressed happiness over the achievements and extended congratulations to the young athletes.
