Baliguda The Executive Committee meeting of the Odisha Nila Utkal Kalyan Teachers and Education Inspectors’ Association, Kandhamal District Branch, was held at Baliguda.
The event began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the association’s president, Surath Chandra Muni, in front of a photograph of Lord Ganesha. Senior teacher Umesh Chandra Behera conducted the meeting. It commenced with a moment of silence in memory of the departed teachers.
Tirthabasi Ghadai, the General Secretary of the District Teachers’ Association, read out the minutes of the previous meeting. The meeting addressed various concerns such as:
Irregular salary payments
Lack of action despite repeated complaints to higher authorities regarding teachers’ issues
Non-implementation of MACP and RACP schemes
Unresolved EPF-related problems
Unsatisfactory behavior of office assistants towards teachers at the district office
Pending promotions for Head Sevaks
MCT grade promotions
Grade promotions for B.A.-B.Ed. and B.Sc.-B.Ed. qualified teachers
Upcoming general body meeting
Retirement felicitation programs
Support for families of deceased teachers
House rent issues
It was resolved to inform the District Welfare Officer and District Collector of Kandhamal about these issues and request prompt action. If actions are not taken within a specific timeframe, the association will submit a memorandum to the Government of Odisha and organize a large teachers’ rally at the District Collector’s office.
All executive members and associates of the association attended the meeting. At the conclusion of the meeting, the association formally informed Chief Advisor and Hon’ble Phulbani MLA Umacharan Mallik and Legal Advisor Bijaykrushna Pattnaik about the decisions taken. The meeting ended with a vote of thanks by the association’s Vice President Ranjit Kumar Pradhan.
