Bhubaneswar,  Feb, 16:  The bill on increasing the salaries of MLAs may be reconsidered.
The bill could come up for review during the current Assembly session.
This information was given by Committee Chairman Bhaskar Madhei.
“MLAs had submitted a written proposal to the Chief Minister seeking reconsideration,” he said.
Various social organizations and members of the public had criticized the proposed salary hike.
The bill may be reviewed again and passed after reconsideration in the upcoming budget session.
MLAs’ salaries may be reduced to some extent, according to Bhaskar Madhei.
“For now, the salary should be fixed at the minimum necessary and reasonable level.”
The government is examining the matter and will take steps after due review
