Government to spend Rs372.80 crore annually
For this, the state government will spend ₹372.80 crore per year. This initiative will be implemented from the upcoming academic year. In this regard, Additional Secretary of the School and Mass Education Department, S.K. Mahapatra, has sent a letter to the state nodal officers on Tuesday.
The letter states that the primary objective under the PM Poshan scheme is to improve the nutritional intake of children. Eggs are rich in nutrients, including iron. Initially, this initiative will be applicable to students from Class 1 to 8 at the primary level and Classes 9 and 10 at the secondary level.
