Bhubaneswar: A delegation from the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee met with the Hon’ble Governor and urged for the immediate implementation of 27 percent reservation for OBC/SEBC in government institutions and educational establishments.
Although OBC/SEBC communities constitute 54percent of Odisha’s population, they currently receive 0 percent (nil) reservation in the education sector and only 11.25 percent in government employment, which is far below the mandated 27 percent . As a result, thousands of students are being denied admission to educational institutions, and nearly 50,000 job-seeking individuals are being deprived of employment opportunities.
