Odisha CM Mohan Majhi Clears Rs1.51 Lakh Cr for 8 Mega Projects, Promises 60⁠,000+ Jobs

Bhubaneswar: On the occasion of the completion of the Mohan government’s first year in office, a major decision has been made to accelerate industrialization in the state. Projects worth ₹1.51 lakh crore have received approval. In a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, the High-Level Clearance Authority (HLCA) approved eight major projects. These industrial ventures are expected to generate employment for more than 60,000 people.

Among the approved projects is a mega aluminium project by Vedanta, which plans to set up a 3 million tonnes per annum aluminium smelter plant and a 4900 MW captive power plant in Dhenkanal. The company will invest ₹1.28 lakh crore in this massive project, which alone will directly provide jobs to 30,000 people.

The double-engine government is benefiting the state, with the state government focusing on industrial development to build a prosperous Odisha. As the Chief Minister pushes for increased investment in the state, full cooperation from the Centre is helping attract corporate interest and boost confidence among investors.

Appointment Letters Distributed to 964 Candidates Across Five Departments

Government jobs are dedicated to public service, and newly appointed employees must commit to fulfilling the hopes and aspirations of the common people by ensuring quality service delivery. They must work with a sense of duty and dedication, always seeing themselves as servants of the public, said Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.

On Monday, at the OUAT Agriculture Education Auditorium, the CM distributed appointment letters to 964 individuals across five departments. He advised them to ensure that every decision and action they take in their official capacity is rooted in public welfare.

He further stated that, in the past few years, recruitment in government sectors had slowed down. However, since his government took office, both government and private sector employment opportunities for youth have significantly increased. In the past year alone, 28,000 have received government jobs and 45,000 private sector placements have been facilitated.
