Bhubaneswar, 28th July 2025: has taken a significant step forward in the field of renewable energy with the approval of a major project worth ₹869.8 crore. The project aims to generate a total of 178 megawatts (MW) of clean energy. The decision was taken at the 12th Single Window Committee meeting, chaired by Principal Secretary of the Energy Department Bishal Kumar Dev.
Key participants in the meeting included Gridco Director Satyapriya Rath, senior officials from Gridco and OHPC, the Chief Electrical Engineer, Chief Electrical Inspector, and other top committee members. The main project proposals were presented by the Project Head of the International Energy Agency (IEA), followed by in-depth discussions and final approval by the committee.
Approved Projects:
69.5 MW Solar Park in Birmaharajpur, Subarnapur district, by Projiel Green Energy Ltd.
49.5 MW Solar Project in Telkoi, Keonjhar district, by Inox Solar Ltd.
10 MW Solar Project in Lakhanpur, Jharsuguda district, by Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd.
Wind Energy Project in Papadahandi, Nabarangpur district, by NLC India Ltd.
With the inclusion of these latest ventures, the Single Window Committee has so far approved renewable energy projects with a cumulative capacity of 1,844.86 MW, involving a total capital investment of ₹12,599.79 crore.
These projects are expected not only to boost Odisha’s clean energy production but also to generate new employment opportunities, contributing to both sustainable development and economic growth in the state.
