Bhubaneswar: Under the chairmanship of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, an important Cabinet meeting was held at Lok Seva Bhavan. In this meeting, four key proposals related to the development of the state and public welfare were approved.
The Mukhyamantri Sahar Vikash Yojana (MSBY) was approved with the objective of building a developed urban Odisha by the year 2036. An expenditure of ₹6,000 crore has been earmarked for this initiative. Key focus areas of the scheme include urban land development, water sustainability, and the prosperity of animals and laborers. Over the next five years, more than 50,000 projects will be undertaken, providing employment to over 5 lakh workers.
The state government has also planned to invest ₹1,113 crore in biotechnology over the next five years. This investment aims to boost research, innovation, and the growth of the biotechnology industry.
The Cabinet decided to waive the land value of ₹2.60 crore for the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) for an additional 0.644 decimal area of government land allotted in Unit-41, Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar.
A dam of 266 meters with 7 gates will be constructed on the Bansadhara River in Gajapati district at a cost of ₹151.78 crore. This project will facilitate irrigation in Gajapati and Ganjam districts, supply drinking water to Berhampur, and generate 36 megawatts of hydroelectric power.
These decisions are expected to significantly contribute to the prosperity, inclusive development, and social security of the state, thereby playing a vital role in improving the quality of life of its people.
