By then, wind speeds are expected to decrease slightly but will still range from 60–70 km/h, accompanied by heavy to very heavy rainfall. The cyclone will move from Malkangiri through Koraput district (Jaypur, Boriguma) to Nabarangpur, and then cross Bhramrakot to enter Chhattisgarh.

This predicted path has been shared by the Water Resources Department. On the 29th, Monthaa is expected to affect Odisha, especially the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Nuapada, and Kandhamal, bringing heavy rain along with strong winds.

According to the Water Resources Department, the cyclone will intensify over deep waters. On the morning of the 28th (Tuesday), it is expected to transform into a cyclone with wind speeds exceeding 80 km/h, making landfall along the Andhra coast between 6 PM and 9 PM.

Although Odisha will not experience the full impact during landfall, southern Odisha and its coast are likely to experience heavy rain on the 29th. Starting today, southern Odisha is already witnessing heavy rainfall, and the government has declared a holiday in 9 districts.
