Odisha BJP Set to Announce New State President Soon

Cuttack:  The central leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has finalized the name for the Odisha state president, with an official announcement expected within the next day or two. This information was shared during a recent core committee meeting held at the BJP state headquarters in Bhubaneswar.

The meeting was attended by National General Secretary Tarun Chugh, Odisha in-charge Vijaypal Singh Tomar, State President Manmohan Samal, Organization Secretary Manas Mohanty, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Deputy Chief Minister Kanakbardhan Singh Deo, Prabhati Parida, Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari, and other core committee members. Discussions focused on strengthening the party organization and ensuring effective coordination between the government and the party.

National General Secretary Tarun Chugh emphasized the importance of fulfilling the promises made by the party and working diligently for public service. He also highlighted the need to widely publicize the pro-people aspects of the Union Budget.

Following the meeting, Organizational Election Officer Pratap Sarangi stated that the announcement of the state president’s name had been delayed due to the Delhi elections. However, he confirmed that the name would be revealed within the next day or two. Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari added that discussions were held regarding appointments to various corporations, boards, commissions, and district planning boards, with the selection process expected to conclude by the end of February.

The party is also focusing on the upcoming panchayat elections, aiming to strengthen its organization at the grassroots level by uniting leaders and workers at the ward level. This initiative is part of the BJP’s broader strategy to enhance its presence and performance in the state.

As of now, the BJP has announced the names of district presidents for several regions, including Saroj Sabat for Ganjam, Shrivatsa Behera for Balangir, Devendra Tarai for Puri, Girish Sahu for Sundargarh, Rahas Bihari Behera for Dhenkanal, Shashanka Shekhar Sethi for Kendrapara, Ishwar Chandra Behera for Balasore, Sukanta Bishwal for Cuttack city, and Jugala Padhy for Kalahandi. The names of presidents for the remaining districts are expected to be announced soon.

The BJP’s efforts to strengthen its organizational structure in Odisha come ahead of the upcoming panchayat elections, with the party aiming to consolidate its position and expand its influence across the state.
