Odisha Assembly’s Monsoon Session to Begin on September 18

Bhubaneswar, 2nd Sept 2025: The 17th Odisha Legislative Assembly’s fourth (monsoon) session will begin on September 18, according to sources from the Assembly Secretariat. The session is scheduled to continue till September 25, comprising a total of seven working days.

It is expected that multiple contentious issues will keep the House heated during this period. The session may prove challenging for the state government, as it is already facing sharp criticism and strong opposition over several recent matters.

One of the key focus areas during this session is expected to be women’s safety, a topic over which Odisha has faced nationwide condemnation. The opposition parties, especially the BJP and Congress, are preparing to launch intense attacks on the government in the Assembly.
