Malkangiri, 19th Nov 2025: The Malkangiri district achieved remarkable success at the State-Level Children’s Festival Surabhi 2025. From the district, students from higher secondary classes in painting competitions represented Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya, Gunduri.
Dalapati secured first place.
Saurabhjit, a 9th-grade student of PM Shri Government High School, Balimela, also won first place.
In higher secondary-level essay writing, Unikrishna Neluru achieved third place.
Similarly, in the Prime Minister’s Nutrition Art senior category, Siddhikanth Palai, a student of Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya, Gunduri, secured first place, while in the junior category, Ahilraj Benya achieved second place. In the junior differently-abled category for painting, Shubhashree Mallik, a 5th-grade student of Kumarput Primary School, won second place.
In addition, the Malkangiri district cultural team’s performance was of a high standard, earning second place in the State Independent Jury Award.
District Education Officer and program coordinator Chittaranjan Panigrahi, Additional District Education Officer Manjulata Bhoy, and Bhagirath Behera congratulated the students on their state-level achievements.
A total of 58 students from various departments of the district participated in the State-Level Children’s Festival Surabhi, which was held in Bhubaneswar from November 14 to 16.
This success was made possible with the guidance and support of the District Education Coordinator Sheshashankar Mahalik and advisor Sitaram Gauda, along with the participation of 16 cooperative teachers, under the leadership of senior teachers Pramod Kumar Senapati and Debaraj Sethi. The district education department has extended its congratulations on this state-level success.
