Puri, 13th Aug 2025: The administration of the Sri Jagannath Temple and the state government have rejected proposals from various organizations requesting to send the sacred Mahaprasad of Lord Jagannath online. Compared to other temples in India, the sanctity and reverence of Lord Jagannath’s Mahaprasad is considered entirely unique. For this reason, the temple administration and state government have not agreed to any such proposal.

Organizations had requested the temple administration to send Mahaprasad online to devotees, but the administration has declined, emphasizing the importance of preserving the sanctity of Mahaprasad.

The temple administration has appealed to devotees to visit Puri in person to have the darshan of Lord Jagannath and receive the Mahaprasad.
