Bhubaneswar,11th Aug 2025: After much anticipation, the state government has appointed the chairperson and members of the State Women’s Commission and Child Protection Rights Commission. But questions remain on when appointments to other corporations and boards will be made. State BJP president Manmohan Samal has hinted that announcements in this regard may come after the 20th of this month. He also stated that the declaration of various BJP party committees will follow.

Returning from a visit to New Delhi, Samal clarified that the final lists of BJP’s corporations, boards, and party committees are not prepared in Delhi but in Odisha itself. He said discussions have already been held with the Chief Minister, Union Ministers, MPs, and other leaders, and a final decision will be made soon. The announcements are expected around the 15th or 20th of this month, which has raised hopes among aspirants.

On the issue of BJD’s reaction to the Lakshpati Didi scheme under Subhadra, Samal said BJD should wait for five years. He remarked that Odisha has become the number one state in producing Lakshpati Didis, crediting the hard work of the state’s women and the interest-free loans provided by both the central and state governments. The scheme, he said, has empowered women, built self-confidence, and provided them with opportunities for self-reliance.

It is noteworthy that the BJP government in the state has completed one year, with six ministerial positions in Mohan’s cabinet still vacant. Many leaders who have worked with dedication for years are eagerly awaiting appointments in corporations and boards, while competition remains intense for spots in party committees. Sources suggest that the BJP high command is emphasizing complete coordination between the government and the party organization, prompting both Mohan and Manmohan to meet with leaders in Delhi to discuss these matters. Aspirants are anxiously awaiting the upcoming appointments.
