Bhubaneswar, Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Power and one of India’s leading rooftop solar companies, has launched an affordable solar rooftop solution under its “Ghar Ghar Solar Abhiyan” (Solar for Every Home) campaign in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. This initiative aims to make rooftop solar systems accessible at the lowest cost in India.
With a customer-centric financing model, the company has made rooftop solar installations more affordable for a large section of Odisha’s population. Residents can now install solar systems with a minimum upfront investment of just:
₹2,499 for 1 kW
₹4,999 for 2 kW
₹7,999 for 3 kW
This initiative has transformed solar adoption from a dream into an economically feasible alternative. Customers only need to pay one-third of the total cost upfront, making it easier and more accessible for residential use.
This move is expected to accelerate the adoption of residential rooftop solar systems and bring solar energy to people at affordable rates.
Under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, consumers in Odisha can also benefit from significant financial subsidies. These include:
Up to ₹78,000 subsidy for 1 kW systems, covering around 40% of the installation cost.
Additionally, the state government is offering:
₹25,000 subsidy for 1 kW systems
₹50,000 for 2 kW systems
₹60,000 for 3 kW or higher capacity systems
These combined incentives have made the campaign even stronger, bringing clean and sustainable solar power within reach for more households across Odisha.
