Brahmapur: A new and modern Judicial Complex will be established on the Brahmapur Court campus. The plans and project for this construction have already been approved. The State Home Department has now granted approval for the demolition expenses of the old buildings to pave the way for the new complex.
A letter (No. 11553), dated the 17th, was issued by the Deputy Secretary of the Home Department to the Chief Engineer of the Works Department, confirming the approval. According to the letter, several old buildings within the court campus will be demolished immediately. These include:
The old SDJM Court
The Ganjam Bar Library
The CSI Office
The Revenue Inspector’s Office
Other related structures
The Registrar of Brahmapur Civil Court, Ganjam District Collector, and Executive Engineer of the Works Department have received copies of this letter for further action.
Long-Awaited Project Set to Begin
This move has cleared the way for the long-awaited construction of the new judicial complex, which has been a topic of discussion for some time. Previously, several offices, including the Ganjam Bar Office, SDJM Court, and Fast-Track Court, had been vacated to make space for the project.
Additionally, some old government quarters in the Judicial Colony will also be demolished, with the Home Department approving the necessary funds for this purpose. The Public Works Division (1) of Brahmapur has been assigned the task, and a letter has been issued for the immediate commencement of work.
