Phulbani –3rd Oct 2025: A new District Excise Department Office, constructed at a cost of 1 crore rupees, was inaugurated in Phulbani, the headquarters of Kandhamal district.
Kandhamal MP Sukanta Kumar Panigrahi attended the inauguration ceremony as the chief guest and officially inaugurated the new office.
Among other dignitaries present were:
District Chief Development Officer and CEO of the Zilla Parishad, Sambhunath Nandy,
District Excise Officer Sushanu Kumar Padhi,
Excise Department Inspectors and staff,
Prominent BJP youth leaders, and others.
The newly built Excise Office is expected to strengthen and streamline the functioning of the department. It will also help in effectively curbing illegal liquor trade in the district and boost the morale of excise staff, said the chief guest, MP Sukanta Kumar Panigrahi.
