Kalyansinghpur, Jan, 07:  A new committee of the Sadar Block Farmers’ Organization has been formed. On this occasion, a meeting was held today at the premises of the local Gundicha Temple. Farmers from 14 panchayats of the block participated in the meeting. Senior farmer Dasharathi Nayak presided over the meeting.

During the meeting, the new committee was constituted and office-bearers were elected. Srinibas Choudhury was elected as President, Prashant Kaushalya as Secretary, and Jogendra Wadeka and Gopinath Perisika as Vice-Presidents. Senior farmer Mr. Nayak was appointed as Advisor, while two farmers from each panchayat were selected as executive members.

The farmers expressed dissatisfaction over the procurement of Kharif paddy. Although the mandi under the Regulated Market Committee at Budaguda was opened on the 17th, only a few farmers had received tokens by the 19th. Many farmers have still not received tokens. It was also discussed that paddy procurement by LAMPS has not started till date.

With the consent of the farmers, the committee decided to submit a written complaint to the administration regarding these issues.
