Phulbani, 4th Oct 2025: A new bridge has been constructed on the Gurupada-Kailamba road under the Bridge Construction Scheme by the Rural Construction Division of Phulbani district, at a cost of ₹3 crore 77 lakh.
The villagers had been demanding this bridge construction for a long time. With the completion of this bridge, transportation facilities have significantly improved. This paved road will connect the Kutibari, Bandhgada Ratanga, and Kelapada panchayats.
Earlier, the road was narrow, muddy, and in a deplorable condition. Every year during the rainy season, water from the river would flood the area, obstructing movement.
Keeping this in view, the government sanctioned the project. The contractor, Vishwajit Panda, was assigned the work. It is observed that the work was carried out with high standards and according to government policies and regulations.
The Rural Construction Division officials, including Divisional Engineer In-charge Engineer Karshik Sahu, Assistant Engineer Sushil Mahanti, and Junior Engineer Ganesh Nayak, have shown dedicated efforts, which helped complete the bridge and approach road work successfully.
