Bhubaneswar: The National Education Policy 2020 is dismantling the holistic education system. As an alternative, the Save Education Committee has drafted a proposal titled People’s Education Policy 2025. This draft document was unveiled in New Delhi and Bhubaneswar on the birth anniversary of social reformer Raja Ram Mohan Roy. The announcement was made during a function held at the Lohia Academy.

The event was attended by notable guests including Professor Swadhin Pattnaik, State President of the Committee Professor Birendra Kumar Nayak, Professor Lambodar Prasad Singh, Professor Kishore Samal, Amiya Mohanty, poet Basanti Mohanty, Bishwabasud Das, Rajendra Barsha, State Secretary Subash Nayak, Keshab Biswal, and Jayant Mohanty, who all participated in the discussion.

The committee stated that people from various walks of life would be engaged with this draft policy and their opinions would be collected. The compiled feedback and amendments gathered from across the country will be presented at the upcoming National People’s Parliament to be held in Bengaluru in January 2026.

Once the final version of the alternative People’s Education Policy is ready, the committee plans to submit it to the Central and State Governments with the demand for its immediate implementation.
