Negligence Exposed: Transformer Left Covered in Creepers by Electricity Department

Jagatpur: Since Tata Power took charge of the electricity supply in the region, its primary focus has been on collecting electricity bills. They emphasize, “Pay the bill, or electricity will be disconnected.” This has led to widespread dissatisfaction among local residents.

In areas like Maa Andhari Thakurani, Jagatpur Khandayat Sahi Chhak, Nanakara Canal Side, Pandasahi Side, I.B. Road, and other localities, creepers have grown unchecked over electric towers, transformers, electric poles, and wires. The electricity department has failed to clean or maintain these, resulting in frequent short circuits and power outages, as reported by locals.

These outages are causing distress to patients and disrupting the studies of school and college students. Locals have expressed their growing frustration, and intellectuals from the area have warned that if the creepers are not removed immediately by the electricity department, a protest will be organized in the coming days.
