Nabarangpur,13th Oct 2025: As part of the Central Government’s Swachhata Hi Seva campaign, the 12th Battalion NCC carried out a cleanliness drive under the Puneet Sagar Abhiyan on Thursday in Nabarangpur. The “New Bandh” (pond) located in Ward No. 4 of Nabarangpur Municipality was selected as part of this initiative and was thoroughly cleaned.
The cleanliness drive was conducted with the joint efforts of the municipality, fire services, health department, and officials from the 791 Battalion, along with NCC cadets. During the drive, garbage, weeds, and water hyacinth that had accumulated in the pond were removed.
Notable attendees at the program included Colonel Sunil Kumar, Commanding Officer of the 12th Battalion NCC; Kunu Nayak, Chairperson of Nabarangpur Municipality; Executive Officer Ashok Kumar Karna; Ward No. 4 Councilor Sharmistha Deo; NCC cadets; and several sanitation workers from the municipality.
