‘Naveen’ Magazine Marks Foundation Day with Celebration in Brahmapur

Brahmapur, 22nd Aug 2025: The 96th Foundation Day of the weekly magazine Naveen, established by Mahuri Raja Krupasindhu Narayan Dev, was celebrated at the Brahmapur Independent Exhibition Hall.

The event was presided over by Rabi Rath, editor of Naveen. Prof. Manmatha Padhi, former Vice-Chancellor of Khallikote University, attended as the chief guest and highlighted Naveen’s contribution to Odisha’s literary community and its role in recognizing writers before independence.

Dr. Bayamanu Charchi, as the main speaker, spoke about the development of journalism in Ganjam district.

The programme also honored Rajendra Kumar Jena, national editor of Lokasebak Mandal and publisher of Samaj, who spoke about how Samaj and Naveen had provided a platform to many hidden talents, helping them gain recognition over time.

Dr. Jacob Thundil, founder of Prem, participated as a distinguished guest. On this occasion, Ng. Yamini Kant Das and social worker Ritik Ji were felicitated with the Krupasindhu Narayan Dev Memorial Award.

Under the guidance of Krishnachandra Tripathy, chairman of Naveen Sahitya Pratisthan, a poetry reading was conducted. The event was coordinated by Sasmita Panigrahi and Ranjan Kumar Brahma, with thanks extended by co-editor Sushant Kar.
