Bhubaneswar, Dec, 29: Naval officer Lieutenant Harshit Deo was appointed as the Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to the Governor of Odisha on Monday. At a formal appointment ceremony held at Lok Bhavan, Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati conferred this prestigious position upon Lieutenant Deo.
Lieutenant Deo, who had been serving as a Watch Keeping Officer (WKO) on INS Aditya, has now taken charge of this new responsibility. He is an alumnus of the prestigious National Defence Academy (NDA) and holds a B.Tech degree in Applied Electronics and Communication.
After completing the Sub-Lieutenant (Afloat) phase at INS Delhi in May 2022, Lieutenant Deo underwent the SLT (EX) Tech Course. Subsequently, in April 2023, he was posted to INS Aditya for watch-keeping duties, and in December 2023, he was formally appointed as a Watch Keeping Officer on the same ship.
During his service tenure, Lieutenant Deo has gained valuable operational experience by participating in several fleet deployments and international-level naval exercises.
Lieutenant Harshit Deo is a native of Lohaghat in Champawat district of Uttarakhand and is the son of Shri Naresh Deo, a retired government teacher and a recipient of the President’s Award. With his strong academic background and professional naval experience, Lieutenant Deo has assumed this new responsibility with distinction.
The Governor of Odisha is assisted by two ADCs—one from the Indian Navy and one from the State Police. At present, IPS officer Kuldeep Meena from the Odisha Police is serving as the other ADC to the Governor.
