Kotpad , 31st Oct 2025: The Naguni Chaturthi festival was celebrated in Kotpad with great devotion and grandeur. The rituals took place in a spiritual atmosphere near the Maa Bamanadei Temple, at the snake cave (Saap Gumpha) and other traditional serpent-worship sites.
The Telugu community in particular observed this sacred festival of Nag Chaturthi, followed by Nag Panchami on the fifth day. As per tradition, devotees from the Telugu community of the Kotpad area gathered early in the morning after taking a holy bath. They offered prasada of various kinds—including rashi laddu (sweet balls), bananas, different fruits, and eggs—at the snake pits near the Bamanadei Temple, worshipping the Nag Devata (serpent deity) and praying for the fulfillment of their wishes.
At the end of the rituals, families celebrated joyfully by bursting firecrackers, marking the conclusion of the festival in an atmosphere of happiness and enthusiasm.
