Nabarangpur’s Samikshya to Represent India in Japan’s Prestigious “SAKURA Science” Program

Nabarangpur: Samikshya Rani Mali, a meritorious student from Nabarangpur, will be visiting Japan. She will represent Odisha in the High School Science Program scheduled to be held in Sakura, Japan, from August 17 to 23. Samikshya has been selected by the State Department of Education for this prestigious opportunity. A letter (No. 5727) was sent by OSEPA on the 22nd to the Nabarangpur District Education Officer, informing them of her selection.

It is also known that Dr. Niharika Sahu, a botany lecturer at BJB College, Bhubaneswar, will accompany her.

In recognition of Samikshya’s achievement, she has been honored during the Medhabi Samman (Meritorious Felicitation) ceremony held at her school. Odisha’s School and Mass Education Minister, Nityananda Gond, personally felicitated her and praised her consistent dedication towards achieving her goals. District Education Officer Chhatrapati Sahu also expressed his gratitude and congratulations to her.

Samikshya hails from Ichhabatiguda Sahi in Nabarangpur town. She is the daughter of Basanti Mali and Tripati Mali. She completed her studies at the Nodal R.C.D. High School, Nabarangpur, and secured 567 marks out of 600 in the 2024 matriculation exam, emerging as the district topper.

That same year, she received the Chief Minister’s Education Award and a cash prize of ₹50,000 as an outstanding student. Currently, Samikshya is studying +2 Science at Karlamal Government SSD High School. Her father, Tripati Mali, is a chemistry teacher at the same school. Samikshya aspires to become a doctor in the future. She has received best wishes and congratulations from various institutions for this achievement.

Notably, through the High School Science Program, students get the opportunity to witness Japan’s top scientific technologies, interact with renowned scientists, and engage in cross-cultural exchanges with students from around the world, fostering advanced knowledge and skills in science and culture.
