Nabarangpur, Jan, 03: The eighth annual celebration of the Nabarangpur Senior Citizens’ Association was held with great enthusiasm at the local Akhandalamani Siksha Sabha Hall. The programme was organized under the chairmanship of Dr. Radhanath Behera, President of the Association.

Nabarangpur MLA Shri Gourishankar Majhi attended the event as the chief guest. Eminent social worker and Treasurer of the Association Shri Jagannath Mahapatra, Vice President Shri Chandra Kumar Acharya, and Secretary Shri Lakshmikanta Mishra were present as guests of honour.

At the outset, the General Secretary of the Association, Shri Ramamurti Pattnaik, delivered the welcome address and presented the annual report. On the occasion, three senior citizens of Nabarangpur town—Shri P. Anand Rao, Smt. Manorama Majhi, and Shri Chaitanya Deb—were felicitated with citations and mementoes in recognition of their contributions.

Addressing the gathering, the guests observed that senior citizens are reservoirs of knowledge in today’s society. They emphasized that by guiding the younger generation in facing complex challenges, senior citizens can play a vital role in building an ideal and progressive nation.

Prominent senior members of the Association, including Shri Narayan Panda, Shri Niranjan Mishra, Subas Sur, Satyabadi Sadangi, Raghunath Patra, Tripati Swain, Jagannath Das, Jagadish Tripathy, Prashant Kumar Padhi, and Gupteshwar Panda, along with around 130 members, participated in the programme.

The vote of thanks was delivered by Shri Ramamurti Pattnaik, following which prasad was served to all attendees.
