Nabarangpur Lawyers’ Association Highlights Crucial Role of Legal Fraternity in Justice System

Nabarangpur: The 177th birth anniversary of Utkal Gourab Madhusudan Das and Lawyers’ Day was celebrated in the premises of the District and Sessions Court of Nabarangpur, organized by the Nabarangpur Lawyers’ Association. The event was presided over by association president Advocate Sirajuddin Ahmad.

The Chief Guest, Hon’ble Justice of the Orissa High Court, Shri Shiva Shankar Mishra, paid floral tributes to the statue of Madhubabu on the court premises. During the meeting held on this occasion, Justice Mishra said that Madhubabu’s contribution to empowering women in the judiciary was memorable. He emphasized that lawyers play a vital role in delivering justice and that the protection of both judges and courts also depends on lawyers.

Distinguished guests included Ramesh Patra, Member of the State Bar Council, and Narasingha Tripathy, State Vice-President of the Odisha Lawyers’ Council. The keynote speaker, Pitabas Panda, also a member of the State Bar Council, addressed the gathering.

Advocate Shatabdi Pal welcomed the guests to the stage, while senior lawyer Jhadeshwar Khadanga and other women advocates welcomed the dignitaries with gratitude. Association Secretary Tapan Singh presented the editorial report.

In his address, District and Sessions Judge Shri Subrat Mahanti suggested that every Bar library should maintain a collection of books on Madhubabu’s life to enhance understanding of his contributions.

On this occasion, the association honored the guests by presenting them with traditional shawls and mementos. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Vice-President of the Association, Advocate Sadashiv Sahu.
