Nabarangpur:Dec, 17: A one-day district-level training programme on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030 was organized today by the District Planning and Monitoring Office, Nabarangpur, at the Mission Shakti Conference Hall, Nabarangpur.
At the outset, the District Collector of Nabarangpur, Dr. Maheshwar Swain, along with the Chairperson of Nabarangpur Municipality, Kunu Nayak, inaugurated the programme by lighting the ceremonial lamp. In his address, the Collector emphasized the need to ensure the achievement of all 17 Sustainable Development Goals in Nabarangpur district by 2030 and urged all stakeholders to work towards attaining improved development indicators.
Additional District Magistrate (Revenue), Bishwajit Chandra Barman, was present and elaborated on the strategies required to achieve the SDGs. He explained, with various examples, how these goals can be implemented and achieved at different departmental levels.
Similarly, the Deputy Director of the District Planning and Monitoring Office, Aishwarya Bhanj, discussed in detail the objectives of the programme, the 17 SDG goals, SDG India Index 2.0, SDG Dashboard, and the indicators, along with their reporting and monitoring mechanisms.
From the DPRC, Nabarangpur, Brajesh Senapati provided insights into the localization of sustainable development and outlined the various action plans proposed for the district in the coming days.
The training programme was attended by various district-level officials, including CDAO, CDVO, DIPRO, Block Development Officers, Tahasildars, Municipal Executive Officers, educationists, principals of different colleges, scientists, representatives from Krushi Vigyan Kendra, Umerkote, and delegates from various non-governmental organizations.
All participants jointly held detailed discussions on formulating SDG 2030 for Nabarangpur district through a participatory approach and on achieving its targets. Emphasis was laid on key areas such as poverty eradication, zero hunger, healthy and disease-free life, quality education and economic development, gender equality, clean water and sanitation, affordable and clean energy, growth and industry, climate change, and sustainable production.
Officials of the District Planning and Monitoring Office, including Sudhir Kumar Pradhan, Sudip Kumar Mohapatra, Anuradha Barik, Alaka Priyadarshini, Premananda Panda, and Nitesh Kumar Rath, were present and assisted in the smooth conduct of the training programme.
At the end, Sudhir Kumar Pradhan proposed a vote of thanks, following which the programme concluded.
