Nabarangpur: In a follow-up to the memorandum earlier submitted by the District Citizens’ Committee to Dr. Ashok Kumar Barna, the Executive Officer of Nabarangpur Municipality, Committee Chairman Jagannath Mahapatra held a discussion regarding the subsequent actions and implementation steps.
The memorandum highlighted key civic issues in all 17 wards of Nabarangpur Municipality, including the repair of drains and sewer lines, construction of roads and streets, and the mismanagement of the dumping yard. The Chairman assured that these issues would be presented in the upcoming municipal council meeting for proper resolution.
Editorial members Ram Prasad Patra, Kishori Pattnaik, Tapan Kumar Beshoyi, Subrat Behera, Pradeep Kumar Sahu, and Shrinivas Patra also met the Executive Officer and discussed the matters in detail.
In response, the Executive Officer assured that appropriate steps would be taken. Regarding complaints that the municipality was charging excessively for toilet and sanitation vehicle services, he clarified that in the coming days, charges will be collected only as per the official government-prescribed rates.
