Nabarangpur Holds Review Meeting on Key Developmental Programs

Nabarangpur: A district-level review meeting on various developmental programs was held under the chairmanship of Shri Bibhuti Bhushan Jena, Minister of Commerce & Transport, and Steel & Mines, at the Mission Shakti Conference Hall in Nabarangpur.

In view of the completion of one year of the state government, a preparatory meeting was also held for organizing a district-level Vikas Mela (Development Fair) scheduled to be held from 12th June to 18th June 2025.

Present on the occasion were:

MLA Narasingha Bhatra (Jharigam)

Additional District Magistrate (ADM-General) Tapan Kumar Khuntia

All district-level departmental officers

During the meeting, various departments presented data and updates through PowerPoint presentations (PPTs) to the minister regarding the progress and action plans of departments such as Health, Mines, Transport, Drinking Water, Supply, Social Security, Social Welfare, Industry, Labour, Skill Development, and Zilla Parishad as part of the government’s one-year anniversary.

The Vikas Mela will be held in the newly developed Mandaipada ground, where:

Different departmental stalls

Food festivals and traditional food competitions

Cultural programs

Development-themed roadshows from blocks and urban areas
will highlight various citizen-centric government schemes.

Special responsibilities were assigned to departmental officers regarding:

Security and public order

Parking and magistrate duties

Sanitation, drinking water, waste management

Fire safety

Stalls, cultural programs, promotion, media coordination

Suvadra Shakti traditional food competition

Stage management, guest reception, electricity and other logistical arrangements

The minister directed the district administration to take special steps for the successful implementation of the fair and emphasized effective showcasing of state government initiatives through the stalls. He also urged all departments to begin work with seriousness and focus.

The fair will also spotlight:

Various startups, entrepreneurs, and industrial units

Freedom fighters, notable athletes, writers, and artists

Success stories of various departments

Development of tourist spots and eco-tourism

Road safety and promotion of zero-accident days

Development of maize processing and allied industries

Ideal police stations, nutrition programs, and model schools like Godavarish Mishra Adarsh Vidyalaya

The Minister of School & Mass Education, Shri Nityananda Gond, stressed the need for:

Better outreach of departmental schemes

Assistance to beneficiaries

Effective promotion during the Vikas Mela

It was decided to set up 61 stalls, including 36 departmental stalls and 25 traditional food stalls.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by ADM Tapan Kumar Khuntia.
