Nabarangpur,Jan, 07: Under the auspices of the State Cricket Association, an Inter-District School-Level 50-Over Cricket League Tournament will be held at Cuttack starting from the 24th of this month. For this purpose, the Nabarangpur district team has been selected.
The Secretary of the District Cricket Association, Prahallad Tripathy, announced a 15-member squad along with the team captain. Pankaj Sandhami has been appointed as the captain. The selected players include Ajit Gabala, Niklesh Boishakh, Ritu Harijan, Birendra Panigrahi, Sahil Harijan, Raghubir Pattnaik, Swadhin Pattnaik, Adarsh Kumar Behera, Mayank Soura, Ashutosh Gantayat, M.E. Kous, Durga Prasad Behera, and Siddhi Patra, among others.
Lambadhar Soura will serve as the team coach, while Shashank Shekhar Behera will take charge as the team manager.
The District Sports Association’s Media Coordinator Manoj Kumar Pattnaik, Joint Secretary of the District Sports Association M. Balakrishna Rao, Cricket Secretary Ashok Nayak, along with other office-bearers and members of the association, extended their best wishes to the team.
It is noteworthy that the Nabarangpur district team will play league matches from October 24 to October 30 against teams from Jajpur, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Kendrapada, and Boudh.
Former senior sportspersons of the district have also conveyed their best wishes for the team’s success.
