Nabarangpur, Celebration was held at the District Culture Hall. The Jayadeva Jayanti Utsav 2025 was organized at Nabarangpur with the joint support of the Department of Culture and the District Administration. On this occasion, discussions were held on the life of Poet Jayadeva, his legendary work Gita Govinda, and the significance of Akshaya Tritiya, along with dialogues on enriching the Jagannath culture and the revival of cultural heritage.
Chief Guest, Nabarangpur Sub-Collector Prakash Kumar Mishra, and Distinguished Guest, District Information and Public Relations Officer Manoj Kumar Behera, addressed the gathering. They highlighted the greatness of Gita Govinda, the immortal contribution of poet Jayadeva, and the divine love of Radha and Krishna portrayed in his work. Special emphasis was placed on divine verses like:
showing how they continue to inspire generations with devotion and artistic excellence.
Among others, Kartika Bhatra (Vice-President of the District Art and Culture Association), Dr. Bijaya Mishra (Keynote Speaker), Jema Mani Bishoyi, Bijaya Choudhury, Narayan Panda, Assistant Collector Ashutosh Patra, and Dr. Radhanath Behera elaborated on Jayadeva’s timeless legacy. They discussed the spiritual depth of the Dashavatara Stotra, its vivid depiction of Lord Vishnu’s incarnations, and Jayadeva’s lasting impact on Odisha’s cultural heritage.
On this occasion, a cultural program themed on Lord Jagannath, directed by musician Yugal Kishore Tripathy, was performed by local artists, adding to the devotional and cultural grandeur of the event.
