Malkangiri: Several development projects were inaugurated today in Chitrakonda block. Balabhadra Majhi, Member of Parliament (MP) from Nabarangpur Lok Sabha constituency, attended the program as chief guest and inaugurated a Multipurpose Excellence Centre at Chitrakonda block and Tunnel Camp.
Present on the occasion were:

Deputy District Collector Duryodhan Bhoi
Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) Project Administrator Haldhar Sabar
Chitrakonda Block Development Officer Preeta Kumari
Tahasildar Natabar Garada, among others.
The Multipurpose Excellence Centre, built by the ITDA, includes:
Turmeric and tamarind processing units
A jackfruit chip production unit, aimed at enhancing the market value of locally grown jackfruits.
This initiative will help bring national-level recognition to the agricultural potential of the Chitrakonda region.
The center is set up with the goal of making tribal communities economically self-reliant by helping them process and market their produce effectively.
In the presence of the MP and MLA, a Forest Land Rights Pattā Distribution Fair was also held in the Chitrakonda Panchayat Samiti meeting hall, during which forest land pattas were distributed to 105 beneficiaries from Papulur and Balimela RIC areas under Chitrakonda block.
The ITDA has also taken various steps to improve the livelihood of tribal communities. As part of this, MP Shri Majhi inaugurated dragon fruit cultivation projects:
On 12 acres of land in Jantapayi village of Paparmetla Panchayat
On 13 acres in Lauguda village
Additionally, Virtual Reality (VR) Labs and Astro Labs were inaugurated at the Chitrakonda Government SSD Girls’ High School and Boys’ High School, respectively.
Several officials from ITDA and Chitrakonda Block staff were also present during these events.
