Malkangiri, 26th July 2025: The road near the Padia Panchayat Regional High School in Malkangiri district has become severely dilapidated. This road connects Nakamuṇḍā village, located about 4 kilometers from the Kunchanpalli Film Road.
The entire stretch is filled with large potholes, and due to the presence of clayey soil, water accumulates in many places, forming artificial muddy ponds. As a result, people commuting on this road are facing extreme inconvenience and danger.
The route passes through Kunchanpalli, Nakamuṇḍā, and Komāraguda, eventually connecting to the Chhattisgarh highway via Padia. During the monsoon, the combination of mud and standing water makes travel on this road extremely challenging.
Currently, most villagers are using this road to transport seeds, fertilizers, and tractors for agricultural activities. This movement has worsened the condition of the road, deepening the potholes and allowing more mud and water to accumulate.
Due to the poor condition of the road, even emergency services like ambulance access have become difficult or impossible. The local residents have demanded that the district administration urgently intervene and take necessary action to restore the road and ensure smooth travel.
