New Delhi, 17th Oct 2025: India’s most successful cricket captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, is well known for his passion for luxury cars and superbikes. His farmhouse in Ranchi houses a vast collection of expensive vehicles. However, beyond his love for automobiles, Dhoni also has a deep interest in engines and technology.
Recently, Dhoni achieved a new milestone in this area. On Tuesday, he announced through social media that he has officially received a drone pilot license.
Certified Drone Pilot:
At 44 years old, Dhoni is now a certified remote pilot, having completed training with Garuda Aerospace, one of India’s leading drone manufacturing companies. He also serves as the brand ambassador for Garuda Aerospace.
Dhoni personally attended and completed the DGCA-approved drone pilot training program in Chennai, which was part of the company’s pilot certification initiative. Garuda Aerospace confirmed that Dhoni has now been certified as a trained drone pilot.
Achievements Beyond Cricket:
This is yet another feather in Dhoni’s cap outside of the cricket world. Notably, in 2011, he was honored with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army’s Parachute Regiment. He even underwent training to become a qualified parachutist.
Dhoni continues to show that his interests and accomplishments extend far beyond the cricket field, diving into diverse areas like defense, technology, and aviation.
