Jharsuguda, Jan, 02: The MP Sports Festival-2025 for Jharsuguda district, under the Bargarh parliamentary constituency, was inaugurated at the O.P.M. Padiya premises in Brajarajnagar. The event was attended by Honorable Deputy Chief Minister Shri Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo as the chief guest.
Also present were Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Shri Suresh Pujari, Bargarh MP Shri Pradip Purohit, Jharsuguda MLA Shri Tankadhar Tripathy, and other dignitaries. From the district administration, Jharsuguda District Collector Shri Kunal Motiram Chhabra along with senior officials of the district were present.
At O.P.M. Padiya, in the presence of MPs, MLAs, and district officials, trophies were unveiled and a marathon competition for five groups was organized. The event will continue from O.P.M. Padiya to nearby areas.
At V.S.S. Stadium Mandal Grounds, competitions like Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Badminton, Yoga, and Taekwondo will be held, while cricket and football will be conducted at the Jharsuguda Second Battalion (OSAP) Ground.
Players from villages have registered online, and this festival aims to bring hidden talent into the limelight under the supervision of the honorable Prime Minister’s program, with similar MP Sports Festivals being organized across India.
Starting today, this sports festival will be organized in Jharsuguda district under the Bargarh parliamentary constituency, with players actively participating in the events.
