Nandapur, Jan, 23: Koraput Member of Parliament Saptagiri Ulaka conducted a review meeting on Saturday at the conference hall of the Nandapur Block Office to assess the implementation of various Central and State government schemes.
The meeting was attended by Pattangi MLA Ramchandra Kadam, BDO Durgaprasad Dora, Additional Tahsildar Madhab Pangi, Block Cooperative Executive Engineer, sarpanches and samiti members from 23 panchayats, officials of all allied departments working in the block, and Nandapur Police Station IIC Mamata Panda, among others.
Officials presented reports on the status of their respective departments and the implementation of schemes, and apprised the MP of departmental shortcomings and requirements. Panchayati Raj representatives highlighted various problems and needs of their panchayats. The MP directed officials to take necessary steps to resolve these issues.
He assured that complaints raised by people from different parts of the block would be heard and examined. Regarding the issue of granting mining clearance near the Balda Nageswari Cave, he said a meeting would be held on the hill in the coming days to discuss the matter with local people. He stated that if mining clearance is granted by the State and Central governments without adhering to constitutional provisions, the Congress party would take to the streets and protest along with the people.
The MP also said he would raise the issue of problems faced by displaced people of the Budi area during the Lok Sabha session. On the issue of the Machkund river not being included in the revenue map, he said he would discuss the matter with the Revenue Minister and raise it in the Assembly.
Regarding the lack of access to patient transport vehicles in 98 villages of the block, he informed the media that, as Chairman of the Standing Committee, he would hold discussions to ensure road construction to all villages.
In Nandapur, Congress worker Sarveshwar welcomed the MP and the MLA. On the occasion, the MP and the MLA also inspected the site for additional classrooms at Liberty English Medium School.
Present during the programme were Block MP Representative Gopal Matam, Block Congress President Devendra Khemundu, MLA Representative Kamesh Kamudi, Ramakrishna Padal, Dhanapati Sisa, Rabindra Samardo, Bhagaban Khara, and hundreds of Congress workers.
