On behalf of the Koraput district administration, the Parab 2025 Mount Trekking Competition was organized with great enthusiasm today at Talia Mali Hill near Jhadipadar under Bijaghati Panchayat of Narayanpatna block.
Koraput District Collector Manoj Satyawan Mahajan arrived at the venue ahead of schedule and flagged off the mount trekking competition from Bijaghati, formally inaugurating the event. All participants in the competition were provided with Parab T-shirts. The participants covered a three-kilometer hilly route on foot as part of the trekking competition.
To encourage the participants, the chief guest, District Collector Manoj Satyawan Mahajan, was present and interacted with them. On the dais, Block Chairman Goladi Trinath, Vice Chairman Chinudas, Sarpanch Pilib Shirik, and other dignitaries were present. The District Collector expressed his gratitude to the block administration and the youth groups who cooperated in organizing the mountaineering competition at Kalia Mali Hill this year.
The District Collector stated that the district administration has undertaken several developmental initiatives to develop Kalia Mali Hill as a tourist destination. A blueprint has been prepared involving local youth and women for the development of the region. The location has already become a preferred spot for album shoots and Tollywood film shootings, and there is a strong possibility that big-budget film producers will visit the area in the future.
He further mentioned that Kalia Mali Hill will soon be added to the tourism map of Koraput district. Special appreciation was extended to the youth and students from Semiliguda, Koraput, Sunabeda, and Bijaghati Panchayat who participated in the competition despite the cold weather and made the event a success.
Later, meritorious participants were awarded medals and certificates. At the end of the program, Koraput Superintendent of Police Rohit Verma delivered the vote of thanks.
