Bhubaneswar: In Odisha, morning school sessions generally start in April. However, due to the early onset of heatwaves this year, morning school timings may be implemented sooner. A decision on this matter will be taken shortly, as informed by School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Ganda today.
The final decision will be made after discussions with the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, keeping in view the prevailing weather conditions, the minister stated.
Last year, considering the severe heatwave, the school timings for all students from Class 1 to Class 12 were modified across the state. From April 2, both government and private schools under the School and Mass Education Department operated from 7:00 AM to 11:30 AM.
