Nabarangpur The ritual of Mohini Ekadashi, also known as Vaishakha Shukla Bada Ekadashi, along with the worship of Shri Satyanarayan, was solemnly observed in the premises of Shri Jagannath Temple in Nabarangpur town. This major Ekadashi ritual and the Homa for Shri Satyanarayan were conducted in the Natyamandap (temple auditorium) of the temple.
The day began with the worship of the Sun God early in the morning, marking the commencement of the sacred rituals. After the completion of the evening Aarti (worship ceremony) of Lord Jagannath, the temple’s mobile idols of Radha and Krishna were taken on a parikrama (procession) around the temple premises, accompanied by traditional Aalati (offering of lamps). Following this, the main puja and homa rituals were initiated.
Upon completion of the puja and homa, offerings were made to Lord Satyanarayan.
In the evening, a grand Aalati was performed, followed by the Purnahuti (final offering) of the Satyanarayan Puja, concluding the religious ceremonies. The rituals were conducted under the direct supervision of royal priest Narasingha Narayan Tripathy.
Participating in the rituals were temple priests Sheshadev Brahma, Jagannath Brahma, Lakshmi Mandir priest Rabindra Satapathy, sevayats (temple servants) Sumit Pal, Papu Dipu Tripathy, Jeet Panigrahi, gardener sevayat Mina Nayak, Babul Das, Chaitanya Nayak, and others. Also present were the Chairman of the Jagannath Temple Ritual Management Committee Naresh Tripathy, Vice Chairman Bhabani Shankar Sahu, General Secretary Kuna Patra, Santosh Kumar Sahu, C.H. Chitti Babu, along with many other officials and members of the Kirtan Mandali (devotional singing group).
