Jeypore, Dec, 23:  Lakshminarayan Dash (43) from Power High Colony is well-known as a mobile and laptop repair expert. He has been providing training for 18 years. During this time, he has helped over 2,500 young men and women from various districts become self-reliant. Many of them now run their own shops, support their families, and provide employment to others.

According to Lakshminarayan, no formal educational qualification is required for this training. Even young men and women with basic schooling can take the training. With a small investment, they can showcase their skills anywhere and earn a good livelihood. Lakshminarayan said that in 2002, he completed a 2-year diploma in electronics in Cuttack. After that, he studied mobile and computer repair in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Instead of working for someone else, he decided to start his own venture and train other youth.
After returning to Jaipur, he started a mobile repair service. Initially, he faced difficulties in getting loans and support from banks. Since there was no organized system in the service sector, he had to handle everything himself. Eventually, he opened a mobile repair shop and arranged to train children there.

He began by training 5 students. As mobile demand grew, more students became interested in learning repair work. Over the past 18 years, he has trained over 2,500 unemployed young men and women, most of whom have now opened mobile repair shops and become self-reliant. In Jaipur alone, there are 36 mobile repair shops run by students trained by him. Most of these students come from families with no access to government facilities. Even illiterate youth can learn mobile repair and start working in their villages.
