MLA Voices Concern Over Slow Progress Despite HMI Number Connection

Tentulikhunti: Due to the negligence and arbitrary approach of the contractor, road construction has remained incomplete for the past three years, causing great inconvenience to the local population. In response, MLA Gaurishankar Majhi visited the worksite and expressed strong displeasure towards the concerned contractor, urging for the speedy completion of the project.

Under the Rural Development Department, an 18-kilometer road project is underway from Musha Mundiguda Chhak through Anchalgumma and Patraput to Kantagaon, within Tentulikhunti Block, with an estimated cost of ₹8 crore. However, due to the contractor’s unregulated pace, locals are facing severe difficulties in commuting.

A few days ago, the main road was opened for bridge construction without arranging a diversion, which caused tremendous trouble to the public, forcing them to travel an additional 4 kilometers. A news report titled “Main Road Opened for Bridge Construction”, published on 5th of this month, had also highlighted this issue.

Today, Nabarangpur MLA Gaurishankar Majhi visited the bridge construction site near Umuri and reviewed the progress of the work. He expressed dissatisfaction with the slow pace of work and instructed the contractor to expedite the construction, especially considering the ongoing monsoon, to avoid disruption to traffic.

The contractor admitted the delay and assured that the work would be completed soon.

Accompanying the MLA during the visit were:

Kunjabihari Dash, BJP District President

Debadas Mahankuda, Senior Leader

Debarshi Nayak, Executive Engineer

Dhruba Kumar Sethi, SDO

Rajesh Kumar Soren, Engineer

They were all present during the inspection to oversee and support the review of the construction progress.
