Kotpad,1st Aug 2025: On 30/07/2025, a long-awaited ultrasound machine was officially inaugurated at the new Group Health Centre in Kotpad by local MLA Rupu Bhatra. This fulfilled a longstanding demand since the health centre was first opened, as there was a critical need for an ultrasound machine to serve local patients.
The inauguration ceremony was led by MLA Rupu Bhatra and Block Health Officer Dr. Sarada Prasad Muni. Several dignitaries were present, including MP Representative Pradeep Kumar Rath, MLA Representative Binayak Acharya, Girish Padhi, and notable individuals such as Chandrashekhar Dash, Raj Mahanti, Dilip Dash, Chandra Mangali, Tem Raj Majhi, Gaur Rath, Kishore Mishra, Bishwajit Tripathy, along with health staff members Narasimha Pradhan and Sameer Tripathy, and all medical personnel of the health centre. A total of 169 people attended the event and contributed to its success.
It was also announced that every Thursday, a gynecology specialist will visit to conduct pregnancy screenings using this ultrasound machine for pregnant women in the Kotpad area.
In addition to the ultrasound unit, a clean drinking water machine was also inaugurated within the health centre premises on the same day.
This significant development and initiative by MLA Rupu Bhatra has received wide appreciation from intellectuals and the local community.
